Chief Investment Officer
Giles is a qualified Barrister with 13 years experience in wealth management at Credit Suisse, UBS AG and Barclays Private Bank in roles that included advisory as well as discretionary asset management, with a focus on asset allocation, portfolio structuring and alternative investment strategies. Most recently, Giles was a co-founding Partner and CIO at MaxCap Partners, a multi family office where he formulated and implemented the overall investment framework and strategy.
Together with the investment team, Giles oversees the tactical asset allocation and positioning of client portfolios in the light of anticipated macro environment. He also oversees the portfolio and risk management processes and structures longer-term investments for clients on a bespoke basis.
Ivo has 8 years experience. Prior to joining Rampart, he was a co-founding Partner at MaxCap Partners working with Giles White in the investment team, with a particular focus on alternative investments and portfolio leverage. Ivo previously worked for Credit Suisse. He began his career at Coutts Private Bank before moving to F&C Asset Management in 2004, where he worked in the Emerging Markets Fixed Income team, with a special focus on the FX trading and hedging book.
Building on his extensive and practical experience, Ivo retains a focus on hedge funds strategies. As well as taking a leading role in researching the securities and exposures used to express our tactical views, he has day to day responsibility for the management of portfolio positions and securities execution.
Chief Operating Officer
Jim has over 25 years experience working in and heading up operational platforms in the wealth management industry. Jim joined Rampart from MaxCap Partners LLP, where he was a Partner and Chief Operating Officer. This gave Jim invaluable experience at identifying and resolving the operational issues faced by independent investment managers.
Jim previously spent 17 years with UBS AG in three major capacities as Executive Director within Wealth Management. He founded and headed the Risk and Quality Management business function, which was focused on managing and controlling operational risk. Prior to this, he established and headed the Operations and Custody department, having previously led Investment Management Support Group. Before UBS he worked for Royal Trust Bank and Barclays International focusing on institutional UK and international global custody.
